About Betsy
Being with family, sharing God’s love, and helping others are at the top of Betsy’s list for a life well lived. Over the years, Betsy has followed her heart doing just that.
Growing up in a large family, she spent many summers in third-world countries while her father, an orthopedic surgeon, gave his time to medical missions. Likewise, as an adult, she channeled her interests into unique ways to help others—from teaching English as a Second Language to supporting children affected by HIV/AIDS, and helping teach a Bible study in a local women’s prison.
She also participated in the NICU Helping Hands Angel Gown® Program, joining other volunteer seamstresses to create custom-made infant gowns from deconstructed bridal gowns for bereaved families who lost a baby.
One of her greatest passions, however, rests much closer to home as a mother and a grandmother. Watching her daughters grow, marry, and blossom into the amazing wives and mothers they are today has been a joy for Betsy and her husband, Stan. With multiple grandchildren so far, Betsy places a premium on being with her “granddarlings.”
When she’s not starting a new creative project, smocking, or trying new recipes in the kitchen, you’ll find her unwinding with a good book or taking long, leisurely walks around the lake with girlfriends. Betsy and Stan live in Dallas, Texas.
